Chas and Primetime

So Under Armour has an event every year called "Armour Day". This year we had a couple of special guests. One of which I got my picture with and even though I dislike the cowboys (for which he played his best ball) with every fiber in my body. I was gracious and thanked him for the picture.
Cal was there too, but I wasn't able to get a picture with him.

Good Good Friday
Also, the plumber is here putting in my tankless, which will save us over 400 bucks a year, and not require us to have 40 gals of 120 degree water over my new kitchen! Also, thanks to BO I will be getting 30% of the total cost of parts and installation back next year in a tax credit! Woohoo!!!
The exterminator should be here soon to "Hasta La Vista" the ants in our house. Get in the chopper!
Lastly, Kim is at the spa getting a haircut and pedicure. She deserves it, but I get to play Mr. Mom. Kaelyn is such a good little girl. She got up happy as could be, played for about half a hour, took a bottle, played for another 20 minutes started getting sleepy eyes and went down with no issues 5 mins later. That's daddy's little sweet pea.

Holy Thursday Batman!
So a busy weekend ahead of us. Tomorrow it's exterminator, new tankless hot water heater and getting rid of Big Blue. All of those things I don't directly have to be a part of but I don't have times for any of them. They are going to happen when they happen. Saturday we will be heading up to Grammie and Pop's for Easter and then going home to my parents on Sunday.
Kaelyn is about 14 lbs and she is growing like a weed. She has got to be at least 24 inches by now. She is sleeping much longer now at nap times and Kim has done a masterful job at getting her on a schedule. She usually has to 2 good naps about 2 hours long once in the morning and one in the afternoon. In the evening we usually let her cat nap, play, watch a little TV (not too much) and then put her back down around 9:30 to 10.
Oh and it's somebody's birthday today... Can't remember who though...
I can't believe my baby sister is 23. Seems like only yesterday I was at Montgomery County Hospital watching her in the nursery. Have I ever told anyone that story?

Beta site launch!
So our little girl is not so little anymore. This past tuesday Kaelyn weighted in at 13 lbs 7oz. She's getting much more alert and we are getting a ton of smiles! We are really close to having her sleep through the night (We hope!) She usually gives us around 4 hours of sleep before she is hungry and wakes us up to feed her. But 15 mins later we can put her right back down and she goes right to sleep.
Tonight I'm particularly looking forward to because it's our 2nd daddy-daughter date while mommy goes out with one of her girlfriends. Kim is getting a much needed and deserved break. The K-ster and I will most likely do a lot of TV watching and napping, with the occasional bottle and diaper changing. It's gonna be great!
In other news, I have to say good bye to my truck this week :-( It's been a very hard decision but it's time. She won't start and even if she did, I just don't trust her anymore. It's kinda like old yeller, if the dog was a dodge ram. I'll be calling the car donation company on the way home to schedule a time to put her down tomorrow. I trust they will find a good home for her, probably at the same farm that all our old pets go to, does anybody know where that place is? I've been looking for it on Google maps for years...
Update - The truck lives for one more week! They will be picking it up next Friday the 10th.
Be Blessed!

A place to call her own
So the big news this week is that Kaelyn is now in her own room. We had planned to do this last weekend but illness's got in the way. But starting Friday Kaelyn started sleeping in her own room and it's been going pretty well. You certainly don't hear all the grunts and squeaks that used to keep us up. On the other hand, you can't check on her breathing every 5 mins!
Things have been going well and it's amazing how much you learn in the first few weeks about your kid. Random fact time...
Kaelyn...
- is very happy in the morning (that is when we get the most smiles)
- loves to be talked too
- falls asleep almost instantaneously when you put her in her carseat
- is about 9 lbs and 9 ozs
I'm still working on getting more videos and pictures up on the web, more should be up soon!

Seems like only yesterday...
Thanks for all your love and support! Kim, Kaelyn and I have been overwhelmed with the calls, visits, emails, facebook comments, and text messages of encouragement and love. We have felt so supported by everyone.
Our little one is awesome. She gets fussy and does her little squeaks and squeals, but for the most part I think she is pretty good. She is a little jaundice, but the nurse's said it's nothing to be worried about.
Kim has been amazing. I don't think I will ever look at her in quite the same way. She is completely off of the IV and epidural pain meds. The only thing she is using right now is Iburprofen. I said to her today "Kim, you do realize that 2 days ago you had a hole the size of a baby in your stomach. Maybe you should take another Iburprofen." But she is fine and was checked out and is healing very well. Kim was also able to shower today, which made her feel like a human again. It's nice to have both of us up and about to handle the "K-ster" (Yes, that is one possible nickname I will have for Kaelyn, also in the running is "Sweet Pea") I will also be refering to Kim and Kaelyn together as "The K's"
Now about the pictures, unfortunately the hospital has a system that blocks me from uploading a majority of my videos of Kaelyn and Kim to the internet. Not to mention my camera is being "Stupid" I have taken about an hour of video, since we got here. I know that doesn't sound like a lot but I went for quality not quantity. When we get home which should be tomorrow night. I will be sure to upload everything I got. Hopefully, if I do it right, it will paint a good picture of the past 4 days. I promise an abundance of pictures and videos!!
Thanks for all of your support and we will be here all night!

Live from Baltimore, it's Kaelyn's Birth!
7:50am Update -
Kaelyn is here!!! She arrived via C-Section at 4:07am at 8lbs 7oz. She is beautiful and in wonderful shape. I have a lot of good video, but I have to get it off the camera first. Kim is recovering very well and in great spirits. Kaelyn is getting her first bath right now and then she should be coming back to our room.
2:40am Update -
Kim got checked about 30 mins ago, and while she has progressed to about 5 cm, it's still not enough to have a baby. The doctor is going to come in about 3 am to check her and see what our next steps are. Kaelyn and Kim are still comfortable and in good hands.
12:10am Update -
We are still here and she's still in there. Kaelyn has decided to not vacate the womb for another day. Kim is getting some much needed sleep and Kaelyn is responding well and is being a champ. They have upped her pitocin and tried to increase her contractions to be adequte. (Basically strong enough to push Kaelyn down and out) We will get the next check around 4am. We are just trusting in God. He's got the whole situation under control.
9:20pm Update -
Kim is taking a good rest now, she feels good and is great spirits. A world of difference since 6:30pm. The doc is scheduled to come in around 11 or so and check Kim to see how far along she is. Kaelyn's heart rate is really good, and is not having any problems with the increases in pitocin.
7:10pm Update -
After having some really good contractions for several hours. Kim got an epidural. She is resting very comfortably and just waiting for things to progress. Thanks to all of everyones kind words and encouragement, that matter more to Kim and I then you will ever know.
1:15pm Update -
Kim is now having good contracts every 2 or 3 mins, but it sounds like they are going to let her labor for awhile, before there are any arrivals. She is not going to be checked for a couple of hours. But the nurses are great and very happy and helpful. Lisa, Kelly, and Tish stopped by to see Kaelyn. Things are good.
11:10am Update -
We are still here and Kim is now sitting in a rocking chair. She is very comfortable, and the contracts are become more and more steady. They are getting stronger and the breathing exercises are definitely coming in handy. Right now our little girl has the hiccups, which we can hear on the monitor. The Grand Poopa and Gammie are now here and in the labor and delivery room.
8:30am Update-
That's right, it's finally here. I'm sitting in the Delivery Room with Kim waiting for our little girl. We got here about 6am and got Kim hooked up to all the machines. Kim came in dilated about 3 cm, Pytocin was started at about 7am, and the doctor broke her water about 7:30am. She and Kaelyn are doing very well. They have internet access here!!! Which is awesome and I'll be able to post updates on Kim's progress all day. I will post pictures as Kim allows and keep it PG!

A New year and a fresh start!
Well, it's officially official. No tax credit. But we have had a wonderful year so far. Our good friends Luke, Miranda, and Elliot have come down from PA to spend New Year's with us and boy are we getting old.
Kim had to nap at 11 and I fell asleep until about 11:45pm. But we did make it until midnight but bearly. Is this the last year for Dick Clark? When will it be Ryan Seacrest's rocking eve with Dick Clark?
So tomorrow Kim has another sonogram and we will get to see our little girl again. I can't promise another 3D video but we will at least get a picture or two. Kim and I are so anxious to meet our little girl. We can't wait to be able to call everyone and tell them that she is here! We will post pictures and videos, the whole nine yards. We just need her to get out of Kim.
Also, I am starting to post more pictures on the web and I have created to links on the right of the web page, just below the due date calculator. Kim and I are going to try to be really good at uploading new pictures and videos as soon as we take them. So every couple of days there should be some new stuff to look at. I have uploaded some older pictures and I have a couple of videos to get it started. As soon as the K-ster is here things should really pick up. Also look us up on Facebook!
